By Train: Birmingham New Street railway station is well connected by rail with all major cities in the UK. On arriving at Birmingham New Street Station, please change trains and take a local train service calling at Duddeston Station. The venue is 5 minutes walking distance from the railway station. Alternatively those arriving at Birmingham Moor Street Station, make your way to Birmingham New Street Station (7-8 minutes walk) and take a train to Duddeston station.

By Coach: Those who intend to take a National Express coach to Birmingham Digbeth Coach Station, need to make their way to Birmingham New Street Railway Station (7-8 minutes walk) and then take a train to Duddeston station.

By Bus: The venue is served by bus route nos.: 26/26Aoperated by Travel West Midlands. It is usually a 10-minute bus ride from Birmingham City Centre. The bus stop is located on Priory Queensway (by Priory Argos store)

The route that we [...]]]> The final of the The Three Peaks climbs will be in the Lake District during August Bank Holiday from the 27th to the 31st of August

Scafell Pike is the highest peak in England at a At 978 meters (3,210 ft) and can take anything from 7 – 12 hours to climb and return.

The route that we will be taking will be from Wasdale Head from the Car Park and follow Brown Tongue and Lingmell Gill.

Wastwater: The closest to the Start of the Climb

Ennerdale, Eskdale

if you want to search for other hostels then please use the postcode CA20 1 to search and the same for any B&B or hotels.

We will be climbing on the Sunday so please be at the car park at 7:45am to start the walk at 8am.  We will do a quick briefing to discuss the route and the plan for the walk and then start promptly.  If you are coming we will need your phone number and name before the walk so we can take a copy and hand that to someone before the climb as a safety precaution.

Preparation, Clothing and Day of the Climb:

1. Food / Water (bring enough for the day) – Energy bars and fruit are always good to bring along.
2. If you haven’t walked like this before and are worried consult your doctor. You are responsible for your health and safety so if you are not sure then best not to risk climbing
3. As well as walking trousers, boots and a waterproof, please wear layers that you can take off if it gets hots, bring gloves as it can get cold and a warm hat.  You may not need them, but the two we have done so far we have needed them.
4. A small first aid kit
5. Torch
6. Whistle
7. Compass if you have one
8. Map of the area
9. Make sure you have charged phone with you.

Although we are climbing together please be prepared.

After a year’s absence, MitraUK is back to queuing for Wimbledon weekend. Where else can you queue for an event and be able to see the finest tennis players in the world?

We will begin queuing on Friday 25th of June to be at the head of the queue to see tennis on Saturday 26th.
Being at the front means you can usually choose which show court you want to go on and usually this means Centre Court. Out of the 12 years I have queued there have been 2 occassions where we didn’t see any tennis because of rain, however, now the Centre court has a roof so that shouldn’t affect procedings.

Join the Queue

Please read the information carefully and if you coming then we will names closer to the time so we can meet up.
In summary though, you cannot ask someone to hold your place for you as you are issued with a card with a number and these are checked to ensure that everyone is in the correct place. Just think how you would feel if someone queue jumped and you didn’t get your Centre Court seat.

What to bring

Something to sleep in (a tent or similar if you want to)
Sleeping Bag or blanket
Coat
Umbrella
Toilet Roll (although there is plenty when you are in the queue it is always good to have spare)
A chair (if you don’t want to sit on the pavement or bring a pillow)
There is plenty of choice for food nearby or even delivered to you in the queue but you should bring some water with you and some snacks when you start queueing.

When you come along ask where the queue starts for the Saturday and join the end of the queue if you don’t see us. If you are there at the same time we can queue together, otherwise just go to the end of the queue and give us a call so we can meet up during the day.

We will be meeting from 11:00 onwards and for the BBQ to start [...]]]> This year’s BBQ on the Beach will be at West Wittering on the south coast near Chichester.  It is about a two hour drive from London and has a sandy beach, plenty of parking and more importantly we can have  BBQs on the Beach.

We will be meeting from 11:00 onwards and for the BBQ to start from 12pm so that we are all having lunch around 1pm.

 Just park up and then head down to the beach.  For those of you with dogs there is an exclusion zone but you can still come along and we will be adjacent to the area so everyone can sit together.

For the day you will need to bring:

1. A BBQ (Disposable ones if you like)
2. Something to put on the BBQ
3. Something to sit on
4. Something to drink
5. Bin Bag for the rubbish

West Wittering Beach

The facilities at the beach include a cafe

The car park is open from 6:30 to 20:30 and will cost £7.00 for the day.

There is 20 acres of space and no part of the car park is more than 100 metres from the beach.

You don’t have to live in Slough to come along. The location is decided considering families with [...]]]> Family Picnic Lunch at Burnham Beeches on Sunday 20th June 2010. We will arrive there by 11.30 am and gather in CAR PARK. Once we have all the group members, will start our walk / cycle trail by 12 noon.

You don’t have to live in Slough to come along. The location is decided considering families with infants and kids who want to enjoy cycling or some adventure in woods.

Burnham Beeches is well known in Slough, has ample Parking and is also on Bus Route of No. 74.
